- LEVERAGING RECURRING TASKS
By automating your repetitive chores, you ensure you don’t forget them. It is so much easier to develop healthy habits with this tool! You can build complete morning routines or patterns with whatever you see fit. I adore the insane flexibility of this strategy. I have set multiple recurring tasks in my Todoist/Google Calendar strategy, for instance: update the budget on Sunday morning or clean the car every month on the first Saturday. Again, you can tailor this to your every specific need, which makes it very exciting and fun to dive into! (Go for it!) - REVIEWING & REFLECTING (LESSONS TO LEARN + TRACKING YOUR PROGRESS)
There are two amazing components about this skill: one is that regularly reviewing what worked or what didn’t, makes you sharper in predicting future outcomes. Basicly, you become more accurate in knowing how things will unfold. This will give you a real strong confident feeling about what you can and cannot do. The downside here, is that with this strategy, it becomes WAY harder to fool yourself into wishful thinking. If I look back in my Google Calendar from two years ago, I’m always amazed by how much I did and how much I can see of that time: I can see what I ate for dinner, which projects were on my mind, how much I got done per day and which people I met that week. It’s amazing to have such detailed data of yourself and become aware of how far you’ve come since that time. I always look back in wonder and feel more confident about my efforts. - PRIORITIZATION, PLANNING & SETTING BOUNDARIES
Knowing what to tackle first is essential if you want to get your shit done asap. In Todoist you can assign priorities to your tasks so that your checkboxes are color coded. This makes it really easy to focus on your bare-minimum list FIRST instead of constantly having to decide what’s next. Because all your tasks automatically get turned into calendar blocks, you can open up your Google Calendar Weekview and estimate very easily if your planning is still on par. Adjusting in case of overloads is also a real piece of a cookie: you just assign another date and time, and the calendar block gets bounced to the moment when you have more bandwidth available. I do have to mention, because it is so easy, I sometimes find myself bouncing the non-urgent & non-important calendar blocks time after time after time. If you find yourself bouncing a chore more than 5-10 times, do ask yourself if you’re really willing to do it, or if this is a chore you can ditch or delegate.

Life has accelerated to a pace our ancestors could never have imagined. Unfortunately, it’s only up to us to learn how to handle this with care.
